Coastal bustle: everything is fully booked, who wants to spend the night must go inland

There is of course still room on the beach for day trippers, and they were already there today. It is not yet a real surprise on the beach of Koksijde. But the coastal community is bracing itself for what may be the busiest weekend of the year.

Kristien Becue of the tourism department in Koksijde confirms this: “Since halfway through this week, everything has been fully booked, both campsites, hotels and B&Bs. This is often the case here during an extended weekend and good weather. Then we try to send them on to the interior. : Veurne Diksmuide.”

Also very busy in Ostend today

Koksijde, De Haan and Blankenberge are already turning yellow on the coastal barometer today, which means ‘busy’. Only the stretch of beach between the Kursaal and the western breakwater in Ostend is already orange today and therefore ‘very busy’. Traditionally one of the busiest places on our coast in summer.
