Coast is very satisfied with July

There were three percent more overnight stays in residential tourism and second home stays compared to last year. The hotels recorded an average occupancy of 75 to 80 percent. The holiday homes and campsites sectors also look back with satisfaction on the month of July.

Campsites

More and more holidaymakers from neighboring countries are returning to the Coast, with German tourists in the lead. In the campsites on the Coast, the interest of these foreign holidaymakers is again at the level of 2019. Especially the Dutch, German and French campers travel to the Coast again.

Based on mobile telephony data, the number of day tourists on the Coast for July is estimated at 2.3 million. This is about a quarter more than in the same period in 2021. The summer weather in particular plays an important role in this. Top days for day tourism were Sunday 24 July with 145,000 day tourists and Sunday 17 July with 140,000 day tourists.
