Coast expects busy crocus weekend thanks to good weather

Good weather attracts a lot of people to the coast, as is customary. Hotels by the sea therefore notice that the first weekend of the spring break is especially popular. For example, coastal hotels have an average occupancy of 75 percent for tomorrow, Saturday. That is better than last year’s peak day during the spring break. (read more below the photo)

The hotel occupancy varies per resort. The hotel managers expect numerous last minute reservations for the rest of the holiday and hope for a better spring break than last year. Nearly 20 percent of reservations in hotels on the coast come from foreign guests. This mainly concerns visitors from neighboring countries.

Holiday rental at the same level

For tourist rental offices, bookings to date are at about the same level as last year, or slightly lower depending on the coastal municipality. The occupancy rate fluctuates around 50 to 60 percent. Traditionally, many owners of a holiday home or apartment also come to the sea during their holiday.
