Coalition factions divided over government asylum plans | Inland

Compulsory law for the time being just coming

The Hague – The coalition is frankly divided about the palliative measures that the cabinet has presented to curb the asylum crisis. All parties explain the deal in their own way. The VVD states that there will no longer be coercive measures such as ‘Tubbergen’, while the CU finds some cabinet measures ‘painful’ and has doubts about their legal feasibility. The government has indicated that the ‘compulsory law’ is still open for consultation. The two other coalition parties D66 and CDA support the measures taken by the cabinet on Friday.
