A coachman drove his cart and horse into the water of the Drentsche Hoofdvaart near Uffelte for unknown reasons. Bystanders and the Havelte fire brigade rushed to the rescue.
The horse was led to shore with ropes and pulled ashore with the help of a tractor. The cart also came to dry land afterwards. The animal, like the coachman, seems to have sustained no injuries from the accident.
