Coach intervenes and saves unconscious pupil from the bottom of the pool during World Swimming Championships | Other sports

Bizarre images of the World Swimming Championships in Budapest. American synchronized swimmer Anita Alvarez lost consciousness after her exercise and was subsequently rescued from the bottom of the pool by her coach.

Alvarez slowly sank to the bottom of the pool after her exercise and her coach Andrea Fuentes did not hesitate for a moment. The multiple Olympic medalist followed her pupil. Together with a man from the tournament organization, who had also jumped into the water and the rushed medical service, she helped Alvarez to the side.

Everyone involved and in the stands were frightened, but there was good news: Alvarez quickly regained consciousness.

In 2021, 25-year-old Alvarez experienced much the same during a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games. “Anita exhausted herself during her exercises,” her mother said at the time.
