National champion and cup winner FC Marlène has a new head coach. Mo Bouchibti will try to build on the success of the futsal players from Heerhugowaard. Bouchibti succeeds Dick van Stralen.
With Van Stralen at the helm, the women took the double last season. Still, he decided not to stay. “Dick did it for one year and had expressed the wish to go to the men’s as an assistant with the new head coach Iwan de Mees,” said Marlène spokesman Paul van der Molen.
Bouchibti promoted two years ago with the Amsterdam men from VNS United to the premier league. After his interim departure at the beginning of this year, he finished the futsal season in Hoorn at ‘t Veerhuys. The 62-year-old Heerhugowaarder was also active in the past at Lebo and various futsal selections of the KNVB.
FC Marlène previously attracted a Brazilian goalkeeper coach: Edson Barreto. The new indoor season starts on Friday 1 September with the Super Cup match.
