Co-founder Marie Nilsson Peterzén relinquishes creative direction

Swedish shoe and clothing retailer Vagabond Shoemakers has a new creative director. As the company announced on Wednesday, Maria Olander was promoted to the post. She had previously headed the brand’s design department for twelve years as Head of Design.

“I’m happy and grateful for the trust,” said Olander on the occasion of her promotion. “I look forward to working with our design concept on a broader perspective: where our product and brand will be visible and in what context.”

Olander succeeded Marie Nilsson Peterzén. The co-founder of Vagabond Shoemakers has given up the post of creative director, but will remain “with the company as deputy CEO and in an advisory capacity,” according to a statement.

Nilsson Peterzén commented on the change in personnel in a statement: “I have great confidence in Maria’s ability to steer our brand together with our specialists in design, marketing, sales and purchasing,” she said.
