Tarek Müller said in an interview at the beginning of the year that he wants to leave the economy and hand over the management of About You by around 2030. Now his goals are becoming a little more concrete: he should go into politics.
Müller’s goal is to become mayor of Hamburg, as he explained to the Hamburger Abendblatt. He doesn’t want to switch directly from his position as CO-CEO at the Hamburg online fashion retailer to a political office, but wants to deal with socio-political issues first.
His ambitions to go into politics are particularly dedicated to the Hanseatic city, which he wants to make more livable, Müller told the newspaper. He even wants to set up a local party for this. There are no exact plans for it yet, but it should be “technocratic”.
