Don Lemon, the long-time news anchor of the US channel CNN, has been fired from his position. Lemon told about it on Monday on his own Twitter account.

Lemon, who has worked at the channel since 2006, says that he heard about the end of work from his agent.

– I am dismayed. You would have thought that after 17 years, someone in the management would have dared to tell the matter directly, he writes.

– There was no sign in the air that I would no longer be able to continue working on the channel that I have loved, he continues in his tweet.

CNN has reported that Lemon was given the opportunity to meet with management, but instead the news anchor had decided to publish his statement on Twitter.

Lemon has caused a stir this year with his comments directed at women. Varietymagazine published an article earlier this month, according to which Lemon’s behavior towards his female colleagues has been inappropriate for a long time.

In February, on the other hand, the news anchor made headlines as a politician Nikki Haley with their relevant comments. Lemon stated at the time that the 51-year-old Republican presidential candidate is no longer “in his prime”.
