The interlocutor of the channel said that a hypersonic missile (Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept, HAWC) was launched from a B-52 bomber off the west coast of the United States. The missile had a range of 300 miles (about 482 km), the source said, an altitude of 65,000 feet (about 20 km), and a speed of Mach 5. Even the minimum hypersonic speed (about 380 miles per hour – 611 km per hour) allows you to cover a distance of 300 miles in 5 minutes, CNN pointed out.

The test came days after Moscow announced it had used its own Kinzhal hypersonic missile during a special operation in Ukraine, CNN reported, in which Russian troops struck a military ammunition depot in the western part of the country during the strike.
