Club Brugge takes full loot in Eupen

After a series of disappointing results, Eupen put coach Stefan Krämer at the door this week and handed over the helm to his assistant Michael Valkanis, but there was no question of a shock effect at the Pandas. Club Brugge got off to a dream start and Hans Vanaken opened the scoring after just 7 minutes. The Red Devil headed a cross from Skov Olsen against the net. After that early lead, Club was able to dominate quietly and a small Eupen was unable to make a fist.

In the second half, the home team showed a different face. It was more threatening, but the goal fell just before the hour on the other side via Charles De Ketelaere. But Eupen did not lose heart and five minutes later the connecting goal followed by Smail Prevljak (1-2). The Pandas then continued on their momentum and Mignolet could only just keep Nuhu from the equalizer ten minutes before the end. Just before the whistle, substitute Sargis Adamyan decided the match for Club with a simple tap.

In the standings, Club Brugge jumps over Antwerp (53 points) with 54 points. Union, which won 0-3 on Saturday in Charleroi, leads with 63 points. Eupen remains fifteenth with 27 points. The 28th match day will be concluded on Sunday evening with Anderlecht/KRC Genk (6:30 pm) and STVV/OH Leuven (9:00 pm).
