Club Brugge opens Conference League at home against Besiktas
Club’s last two home games will take place on November 9 and December 14 at the Jan Breydel Stadium. On those days they play respectively against the Italian club Lugano and the Norwegian Bodö Glimt. That last home poster is also the final day for the team of coach Ronny Deila. October 5 and 26 and November 30 are the dates that Club supporters should put in their agenda for the away games in group D. Especially the game against Besiktas in Istanbul at the end of November will be important for group win.
Blauw-zwart, last season’s eighth finalist in the Champions League, was seed in the draw. Bodö Glimt came from pot two, Besiktas from pot three and Lugano from pot four.
The group stage will be played from September 21 to December 14. The group winners advance to the eighth finals. The runner-ups play a play-off round against a number three from the Europa League.
Club Brugge struggled through the last preliminary round against Osasuna on Thursday evening. After the 1-2 victory of the team from Bruges last week in Pamplona, the Spaniards took a 0-2 lead in the Jan Breydel stadium. Club was able to reverse the lopsided situation in the final phase and qualified for the group stage with a 2-2 draw.
