Club Brugge holds a successful dress rehearsal for Super Cup against FC Utrecht
In the last practice match of the preparation, the Dutch first division FC Utrecht went smoothly with 4-2 for the ax in the Belfius Basecamp.
Noa Lang only needed 13 minutes to open the scoring after some excellent preparatory work by Antonio Nusa. Blauw-Zwart doubled the margin not much later after Nick Viergever (21.) deviated a cross from Bjorn Meijer into his own goal. However, the Domstedelingen hit back just before half an hour at the hands of the Greek Anastasios Douvikas (29.).
In the second half, Carl Hoefkens sent 11 new names into the field. Ferran Jutgla (68. and 73.), one of the invaders, again disbanded his devils. First he tapped a cross from Tajon Buchanan against the ropes and five minutes later he finished with a nice dribble from brand new striker Cyle Larin. Earlier, the Catalan also hit the target in the practice pots against first national Thes Sport (2x), Challenger Pro League team Beerschot (1x) and the Danish national champion FC Copenhagen (1x). Mimoun Mahi (88.) determined the final score at the end of the match with a second visiting goal.
The new football season will be officially kicked off in Jan Breydel on Sunday with the Super Cup game against AA Gent (6 pm).
