Club Brugge brings Ukrainian striker Roman Yaremchuk back to Belgium for a record amount

According to Flemish media, Club Brugge is putting 16 million euros on the table for the transfer and that can increase to 19 million via bonuses. This makes it the most expensive incoming transfer in the history of Belgian football.

The previous record was held by Zino Vanheusden, who moved from Inter Milan to Standard in 2019 for 11.75 million euros. Club Brugge itself deposited ten million euros for the Nigerian Raphael Onyedika last week. That was just a club record for a short time.

Yaremchuk was already active in our country from 2017 to 2021. During that period, he scored 61 goals and handed out 18 assists in 152 appearances for AA Gent. Gent picked him from his youth club Dynamo Kiev for 2 million euros and let him leave for Benfica in the summer of last year for 17 million euros. There he scored nine times in 48 games. AA Gent now earns again from its former attacker, as last year retained a quarter of the transfer rights. In turn, Benfica is now entitled to ten percent on a resale.
