Club Brugge and Union face the first of a crucial diptych in the title fight

Both title candidates were stuck on a 0-0 draw on the previous match day, Union at Antwerp and Club at Anderlecht, so that the gap between the PhD candidate and the reigning champion is still three points. Union has the home advantage on Sunday and can take a big step towards the title if they win. But the opposite also applies to Club, because Blauw-Zwart, who has to continue without the injured strong holder Mats Rits, can equalize and then play at home against Union on the fourth day (Wednesday 11 May).
