Closure Huizer house on the Roef extended again

Mayor Niek Meijer van Huizen has decided that the closure of a house on the Roef will be extended again. The threat level around the home is still as high as ever. The other house that was closed earlier has been allowed to be occupied again since the end of October.

The current closure of the house ran until 6 p.m. this afternoon. The municipality has announced that the closure has been extended by four weeks for the seventh time.

The house is closed since July 3. The mayor did this on the basis of signals from the police and the Public Prosecution Service. There was a serious threat. In the night of Saturday 9 to Sunday 10 July, an explosive device went off in front of one of the closed houses.

The threat to the Roef has to do with a conflict in the Dutch drug circuit. This quarrel has led to several incidents, in Huizen, but also, for example, in Tienhoven and Hoef en Haag.

Open again

Meanwhile one of the houses open again. Mayor Meijer previously indicated that there was ‘tension on the emergency order’; According to the judge, the houses could not remain closed forever.

The other house will therefore remain closed for at least another four weeks. Also the camera surveillance will remain in the district until the end of the year. The municipality says that the security measures will be phased out if the threat subsides.
