‘Closer-Bee’ poetry as a source of inspiration at K38 Art Center in Roden

At the K38 Art Center in Roden, visual art and poetry go hand in hand in the ‘Closer By’ exhibition. The participating artists started from a poem that inspired them to create their work.

But that also happened the other way around. Then the poet found inspiration for the poem in the work of the visual artist. An artist also referred to poetry as a whole form of expression. Another sought parallels between and within the worlds of poetry and the visual arts. What are we actually talking about when we talk about poetry? What is the essence of poetry?

One participant allowed himself to be seduced into lines of poetry for the visual work. And this diversity of approach to the theme is also visible in the exhibition in a wide variety of working methods. Together a special and surprising whole.

The opening of the exhibition ‘Closer-By’ is Friday, July 8 at 4 pm and can be viewed in Kunstencentrum K38 at Kanaalstraat 38 in Roden from July 9 to 31, Wednesday to Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Entrance: 2 euros, up to 18 years free.
