Closed, for sale, moved or new: that’s how things go in the Stadshart

‘Another business closed’ and ‘the Stadshart is completely empty’, are examples of comments that Zoetermeer residents sometimes make. Which stores closed, opened or moved? You read it here.

The editors of indebuurt went into the Stadshart and asked catering entrepreneurs and shopkeepers about the current state of affairs. On the following pages you can read which businesses have closed, are for sale, have relocation plans or are new.

Things that are closed

One store is out of business, the other closes and moves out of town. There are therefore several reasons why shops and catering establishments close.

These shops in the Stadshart are closed:

Catering establishments for sale

A number of catering establishments in the Stadshart are for sale. The owners hope to find a buyer who will take over the business in its entirety. It may be that the lunchroom or restaurant will continue to exist, it may also be the case that a completely new business is added.

These catering establishments are for sale:

To a new place

Sometimes it turns out that your favorite business has not disappeared at all, but has found another place in the Stadshart. Such is the case with these stores:

  • WAM Denim: has moved from 39 Westward to a few doors down the Burgemeester Van Leeuwenpassage
  • Ani Bloemen en Planten / Goudsmit Gregor: Gregor and his wife Ani ran a flower shop and goldsmith in one in the Burgemeester Van Leeuwenpassage. Gregor moves to a different location in the Stadshart, namely to the Passage, next to the Jamin. This building is being renovated and Goudsmid Gregor will soon open there.
  • Esprit: This clothing store will turn into The Stone within three months. In this fashion store you will soon be able to find men’s, women’s and children’s clothing from various well-known brands. The Stone already has a branch on the Promenade and it is part of the same organization as Esprit.
