In the competition for highly qualified workers for sensitive areas, employers are upping the ante: hospitals are paying a welcome bonus of 8,000 euros for new employees.

The Schlosspark-Klinik Westend is currently advertising in a job advertisement for specialist nurses for the intensive care unit with this welcome gift. “For many months we have been actively looking for qualified colleagues to spread the workload over a sufficient number of shoulders,” says Manya Sensenhauser (45), head of the intensive care unit.

The award is also offered to surgical assistants at Park-Klinik Weißensee. “In the area of intensive care, the shortage of skilled workers is so blatant that very few hospitals can do without bonuses,” says Juliane Ahrens (43), Head of Recruiting at Park-Kliniken. “We chose this large sum to gain attention. Of course, good cooperation is more important than money when deciding to stay with us.”

Common in many clinics: mostly around 2000 euros. Also for personnel recruitment. A Vivantes spokeswoman says: “If our colleagues can get people in their circle of relatives or acquaintances enthusiastic about Vivantes and convince new employees to start with us, you will receive a bonus of 500 to 2000 euros.”
