After the Brandenburg Gate, the next Berlin monument was smeared: climate glue defaced the world clock on Alexanderplatz with orange paint! And only about 50 meters from the police station there!
The color attack occurred during renewed actions on Tuesday morning, as the police announced on X (formerly Twitter).
Several members of the group sprayed the paint from fire extinguishers around 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, as a dpa photographer reported. Two demonstrators also climbed onto the clock and positioned themselves there with a banner.
► It was only on September 17th that the climate chaotics daubed the six pillars of the Brandenburg Gate during a pointless protest. Here too, the paint was distributed on the monument from fire extinguishers. Police officers patrolling Pariser Platz were apparently unable to prevent the color attack. Finally, around 40 officers intervened. 14 climate radicals were arrested, ten men and four women.
To this day the color can still be seen at the Brandenburg Gate. Removal is expected to cost tens of thousands of euros. Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH (BIM) announced this upon request. It can be assumed that cleaning costs will amount to 35,000 euros.
