The so-called “Last Generation” has announced it publicly: They want to disrupt the Berlin Marathon on Sunday. But the plan not only annoys Berliners, but also many people from their own ranks!

In an internal Klima-Kleber discussion group, a member writes: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere concern and disappointment about the planned action. […] The planned blocking of the marathon seems to be out of proportion to me.” The action increases the risk of injury for the athletes and reduces their performance. In addition, running is ultimately climate-neutral.

“As a passionate athlete, I cannot and will not support this measure. Such an action not only harms the organization itself in an unnecessary way, but also violates all principles of sporting fairness,” the climate chaot continued.

She received a lot of approval from the group. Another climate gluer adds: “However, I find protests in “sports” that pollute the environment, such as: B. Car racing MUCH makes more sense. […] I think that sends the wrong signals.”

Another member, however, points out: “Of course it’s not about the athletes and annoying them. It’s about the big stage that each of these commercialized sporting events offers.”

Suggestions in the group for nerve-wracking activities during the marathon: Some climate stickers should run with banners in their hands or the athletes should have to cross through one meter high water.
