A judge at the district court sentenced climate gluer Lina E. to a small fine (1300 euros). Hundreds of Berliners were stuck for hours at six road blockades because of them.

But her confession had a mitigating effect. So not too harsh a judgement. Only: The young defendant (20 years old) seems to have general doubts about the jurisdiction of the court.

Because immediately after the verdict, she announced new crimes. She will continue to stick to streets, she declared defiantly. The climate gluer mocks the judge, the judiciary, our entire constitutional state.

But if criminals put themselves above the law with reference to a higher goal (fighting climate change), our democracy will ultimately lose. Then there is anarchy.
