Climate activists and opponents of the Autobahn have underlined their demands with a rappelling action in Berlin-Steglitz. A woman and a man let themselves slide down from the Friedenauer Bridge onto the A103 on Friday.
They showed a large banner with the inscription “Hanging out is not a crime”. The registered action on Saarstrasse was secured by the police.
According to a spokesman, around 70 emergency services were deployed. For safety reasons, the motorway section around the Steglitz train feeder was closed off.
According to the organizers, the organizations Bund Jugend, Sand in the Gearbox, A100 Stopping took part in the campaign under the motto “For climate protection and traffic change instead of criminalizing activists”.
About a dozen young people showed banners that read something like: “With oh and noisy into the climate crisis – #bittewende #A100stoppen”.

In the morning, a few dozen climate activists had already briefly blocked the Berlin city highway in several places.
The protest actions of the campaign “Save food – save lives” took place mainly in the north-west of Berlin. According to the initiative, actions were also planned in Hamburg and Frankfurt.
