• The factory is located in one of the driest regions of Germany
• Ende Gelände accuses the carmaker of greenwashing
Ende Gelände sticks posters at the Tesla shop in Berlin
With the slogan “Driving for a dead planet”, Ende Gelände addressed Tesla on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the opening of the gigafactory in Grünheide, Brandenburg: According to the climate movement, the US carmaker, which always promotes itself with environmental protection and climate friendliness, operates greenwashing mid-March on Twitter. Specifically, members of the organization had stuck posters with the slogan on the shop window of a Tesla shop in the Mall of Berlin on Leipziger Platz.

The e-cars are a water disaster and therefore a dirty lie!

End of site: Instead of the factory, the region needs free public transport
Ende Gelände does not position itself against e-cars per se, but rather against the price of Tesla models and for accessible public transport: “Instead of expensive e-cars for a few and profits for the greenwashing group, we need Tesla for Berlin and Brandenburg well-developed and free public transport for everyone,” writes the group on Twitter. It goes on to say:
The car production and the expansion of the plant #Berlin must be stopped!
No more liter of water for Tesla! 💧

The region around Grünheide is one of the driest regions in Germany – before and during the construction of the gigafactory in the water protection area, various environmental organizations criticized that the project put profit above the interests of the population.
Musk also does not do well socially in Grünheide
Statement of @IL_Berlin
Tesla steals water in Berlin and Brandenburg, which is scarce due to the climate crisis.
Away with the Tesla factory!

By the way: In fact, not only environmental organizations criticize Elon Musk’s project in Brandenburg. The IG Metall trade union is not pleased either – employees in the factory have apparently reported dubious working conditions.
