Rafael Borré’s move to Brazil to Internacional Porto Alegre has been official since the winter. The loan from Eintracht Frankfurt is still lacing up the boots for Bremen, who didn’t want to let their attacker go in the winter. But now those responsible on the Weser could apparently rethink.
Eintracht Frankfurt announced around four weeks ago that Rafael Borré would move to Brazil “in the summer at the latest”. The SGE and Internacional Porto Alegre had hoped that Werder Bremen would release the Colombian from his contract in the winter. But the Hanseatic people insisted on the contract being fulfilled.
The Bundesliga club had “no interest in letting Rafael go in the winter,” as licensing department manager Clemens Fritz emphasized to the “Deichstube” in mid-January. But the 28-year-old has hardly had a chance in the second half of the season and has to subordinate himself internally to Nick Woltemade and, above all, Justin Njinmah.
Will Werder Bremen let Rafael Borré go after all?
Therefore, Werder is apparently toying with the idea of letting the SGE loan move to South America early. “The last few weeks have not been easy for him. We want to reassess the situation again at the end of February,” Fritz told “Bild”. The transfer window in Brazil doesn’t close until March 7th.
According to the tabloid, however, the condition for a change is that none of the alternatives in attack are injured by then. It is not known whether the seventh-place team in the Bundesliga would receive compensation for the termination of the loan deal. However, the North Germans would apparently save part of their considerable annual salary, which is estimated at around three million euros.
Eintracht Frankfurt had already announced the agreement with Borré’s future employer in January. Six million euros in transfer money are said to be going to the Hessians.
