Dipper Guurtje Praasterink from Eindhoven finished eleventh in the final of the 10-meter tower at the World Swimming Championships. The 19-year-old debutante scored 268.55 points in Budapest. With that she only kept the German Christina Wassen (253.80) under her.

Praasterink also finished eleventh in the qualifications and then the semi-finals. More than a year ago, the diver did not manage to reach the final at the European Championships. In the semi-final battle in Budapest, she then finished fourteenth.

Parents
Guurtje’s performance was attended by her parents. Father Teun: “We followed every moment.” However, they cannot have a lot of contact with their daughter, because she has to comply with the corona measures. “In fact, she is in a bubble,” Teun explained.

The gold at the World Cup went to 16-year-old Chen Yuxi, who came to a score of 417.25. Her 15-year-old compatriot and Olympic champion Quan Hongchan came in second with 416.95. Malaysian Pandelela Pamg won bronze with a score of 338.85.
