The scandal for the rejection of the law of clean file in the Senate continues to generate repercussions within the PRO. This time, he was the senator for Misiones Martín Goerling who went to the intersection with a clear message: “Missionary senators must face. People are outraged and deserve an explanation”. In an interview with Delta 90.3the legislator denounced the silence imposed by the provincial ruling, led by Carlos Rovira, and severely pointed to the versions involving President Javier Milei in the maneuver that the norm would have dropped.
“We find out by national media. Here in missions this was completely silenced. It is not a subject in the provincial media because everyone responds to renewal”, Denounced Goerling, who represents the PRO in one of the most aligned provinces with the national ruling. The senator described Rovira as the“ absolute driver ”of missionary policy:
“He rules more than 25 years ago. You do not need to be governor. From the Chamber of Deputies of the Province he manages everything”
Goerling claimed that both the senators involved and Rovira, Sonia Decut and Carlos Omar Arce, and Governor Hugo Passalacqua himself, publicly explain what happened and if there was effectively an order of the National Executive to change the last moment vote. “All Argentina is pointing to my province. We deserve an official response”He insisted.

The controversy broke out after a note published in The nation indicate, citing multiple sources, which Milei himself would have asked Rovira to intervene to ensure that missionary senators did not accompany the clean file project. For Goerling, if this is confirmed, it would be “a betrayal of popular will.”
The senator also endorsed the arguments that suggest that the project drop responded to a Buenos Aires intern, to harm Silvia Lospenato —Impulsor of the law – and benefit Manuel Adorni.

“If that was so, it is a strategy of huge poverty. A teased for all Argentines. An ethical law cannot be frustrated by a fight between two candidates in the city of Buenos Aires”He stressed.
He also left the suspicion of a possible electoral calculation with respect to Cristina Kirchner:
“If it was to allow Cristina to be a candidate and victimize with the discourse of proscription, it is also very serious. That is playing with institutional fire”

Regarding the relationship between Rovira and Milei, Goerling was prudent, but acknowledged that the Renewal Front for Concordia “He always had a good relationship with the officials on duty”with the objective of negotiating resources for the province in exchange for legislative support. But he warned that this logic has limits: “One thing is to negotiate works, a very different one is to change an ethical vote for political convenience”
The missionary legislator also opined the impact of this episode on the relationship between the pro and freedom advances: “This will mark a before and after. There are provinces where we compete among us. In Misiones there is no alliance. In others, each will have to evaluate whether it is worth continuing”
Finally, Goerling summarized the feeling of many disenchanted voters: “This damages the credibility of the entire leadership. The distance between people and politics grows with each of these maneuvers. And it’s not free”
While President Milei continues with acts in key districts of the PRO, the tension is multiplied and the clean file case is consolidated as a turning point. The question that still floats in the air, as Goerling summarized, is simple but disturbing: “In exchange for what?”. And in the response a good part of the political map that is coming.
