In the 19th Mediterranean Games held in Algeria, competitions were held in the archery branch. In the games held in the city of Oran, Mete Gazoz reached the finals in the classical men’s bow category by defeating the Greek Cypriot athlete Konstantinos Loizou, Mihajlo Stefanovic from Serbia, Ziga Ravnikar from Slovenia and Nicolas Bernardi from Italy, respectively.
Mete will face Italian Federico Musolesi in the final.
Ezgi Başaran, who beat the first round bye in the classical women’s bow, beat Greek Cypriot athlete Christina Hadjierotocritou in the second round, and Spanish Elia Canales in the quarter-finals and advanced to the semi-finals.
Defeating another Spaniard Leyre Fernandez Infante in the semi-finals, Ezgi qualified for the bronze medal match. Ezgi will face French Anaelle Florent in the bronze medal match.
The Classic Spring Mixed Team, which passed the first round by bye, beat Greek Cyprus in the quarter-finals and Spain in the semi-finals and advanced to the final. National team will face Italy in the final. Medal fights will be held tomorrow.
In men’s classical bow, Muhammed Yıldırmış lost in the first round, Samet Ak in the second round, and Yasemin Ecem Anagöz and Gülnaz Büşranur Coşkun lost in the quarter-finals and said goodbye to the tournament.
Tomorrow, the Classic Sagittarius Women’s Team will fight for the gold medal against Italy, and the Classic Sagittarius Men’s Team will fight for the bronze medal against Italy.
