British shoe retailer Clarks has found a new manager for its home market. On Thursday, the long-established company announced that Bob Neville had been appointed Managing Director for Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. According to a statement, he will take up the post in August.
According to his new employer, Neville has worked from Hong Kong for numerous well-known companies in the shoe and sporting goods industry such as Adidas and New Balance over the past 30 years. Most recently, he served as Global Vice President of Retail for US sportswear retailer Under Armour.
Jon Ram, Clarks CEO, explained the recruitment decision: “Bob brings to Clarks significant experience in global retail and developing creative brand experiences,” he said in a statement. “He builds great teams and empowers them to create exceptional customer experiences.” Going forward, Neville will “play a leading role in achieving our strategic goals and growing our business in the UK and Republic of Ireland,” said Ram.
