Clan dispute settled with gun and knife

By Anne Losensky

His name sounds like clan crime. That’s not his name, says the defendant. Even if it says in the arrest warrant and in the indictment: “That’s not my name!”

He is also not Lebanese, but Syrian. This name could be deleted, says his defense attorney: “It only comes from some BKA computer!”

Heitam M. (53) affords two of the best (and most expensive) lawyers in Berlin. The man from Wedding has been in custody since November 11, 2021. In the meantime, he has pulled personal documents out of a hat that have a completely different name.

He now wants to be addressed by this name. The judge does him a favour. Even if the public prosecutor remains skeptical: “These documents have not yet been properly checked!”

Nevertheless, he read out the indictment for file number 521 Ks 2/22. It’s attempted murder.

July 30, 2021, the parking lot at the Bauhaus hardware store near Kurt-Schumacher-Platz in Reinickendorf, 6 p.m. Heitam M. is said to have shot an opponent (two shots through, danger to life).

Ahmed A. (36) is also accused. He is accused of causing dangerous bodily harm with a baseball bat. The accused remain silent.

Two groups are said to have met in the parking lot at the time to “clarify” a “dispute”. First, a 44-year-old is followed by a 15-year-old with a knife (eight stabs in the back). Then shots are fired.

Two bullets pierce the hand and thigh of a 36-year-old. Two more projectiles get stuck in a firewall (BZ reported).

It is said to have been about extortion and clan rivalry, about a lucrative billiard café. It is said that the bar was barricaded with padlocks and chains. And the others had just been to the hardware store to get tools and get the doors open again…

Eleven trial days are planned. The verdict is expected to fall on August 24th.
