Cityline Assen only drives with two vans instead of four

The Cityline timetable will start one hour earlier on working days, according to the passenger panel. The municipality is introducing the changes for the Cityline after consultation with Connexxion, the public transport agency, the passenger panel, and two advisory councils in Assen. This has also resulted in the municipality looking for more affordable alternatives. This will start after the summer.

This autumn, the municipality wants to gauge the need among passengers of the Cityline with a survey. They also involve ANWB AutoMaatje in this research. This transport project started three years ago under the umbrella of Vaart Welzijn, and according to the municipality it is successful. For a kilometer allowance of 35 cents, volunteers drive less mobile residents of Assen to hospitals, physiotherapy, dentists or shops.

Next spring, the municipality wants to have an idea of the need for transport and what is affordable.
