It was Manchester United, though it didn’t look like it.

Manager Ralf Rangnick had to build his team without Cristiano Ronaldoa and Edinson Cavania. Marcus Rashford would have been available, but the national team leader was still left on the bench.

Instead, Rangnick left for his first Manchester derby completely without a purely striker. Paul Pogba he also played his debut on the spot of valeys.

United’s offensive game worked quite well from the start. Rangnick had gotten the attitude right and the unorthodox top three was bitterly hairy.

The problems came up as soon as the home team pressed the game David de Gean to the paint. Swedish stopper Victor Lindelöf gave too much space Kevin De Bruynelle. The Belgian got the ball surrounded by three United defenders Bernardo Silvalta and smeared it on the number one finish.

However, the early opening goal did not discourage United. Koko Pogban, Bruno Fernandesin and Anthony Elangan A pass to the side pulled the defense out of position which let Jadon Sancholle slip through on goal.

The pier waited for a moment for help, and then decided to try it alone. Kyle Walker went on a cheap delusion, Sancho got his pulling foot free and fired accurately into the bottom corner.

The handicap made City feel good. And it didn’t have to work miracles, because United’s defense was as supportive an act as a berry urchin. The biggest culprit is again Lindelöf, who jumped past the ball and out of defense.

Phil Foden got to try from a free kick but de Gea was still able to save the English bet. However, the loose ball was left to De Bruyne, who again raised it behind the Spanish hammer.

The opening episode looked starkly that United didn’t miss Ronaldo at all, but it was completely lost without being corona-infected Raphaël Varanea. The Frenchman would have provided the necessary reassurance for central defense and spared foreign supporters from Lindelöf’s proposal.

Of course, the Swede was not the only one who failed in the defense of the guests. Also purchased with big money Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire were chronically windswept.

Referee Michael Oliverin the permissive line ended at an hour when a yellow card was recorded for Maguire. It could just as well have been red.

Rangnick was still dreaming of an equalizer and sent Rashford and Jesse Lingardin. The crowd crashed as it was 69 minutes into the game, Riyad Mahrez bombarded the volley with magnificent closing numbers. The Algerian got a counterattack from De Bruyne’s corner kick. De Gea could still have blocked the shot himself, but no longer had the rebound from Maguire’s calf.

Mahrez finished the 4-1 final numbers with extra time given by the referee and after a long VAR check. Alex Telles was the latest from United’s back line that couldn’t be blamed directly for the setback. Now the Brazilian left Mahrez out of the box.

City deserved their victory, and the United congregation can’t fight with Ronaldo’s injury or Rangnick’s tactics. The industrial city is still azure.

City continues to lead the six-point lead. United’s dream of the league’s four-state starts to seem like a sigh.
