electronic music competition Barcelona Beach Festival can finally be held this Saturday after resolving the differences that arose between the Municipality of Sant Adrià de Besòs and the organizer of the event, live nation.
According to City Council sources, this morning a meeting was held between the head of the Generalitat’s Fire Brigade, from Joan Delort and the mayor of Sant Adrià to reach a preliminary agreement that is expected to be signed in the next few hours.
The agreement is as follows: the City Council guarantees that the assembly of the festival will be the same as in 2019which did have a mandatory report from the fire department, and the Bombers say that if the assembly is the same, as indicated by the City Council, they can count on their approval even without having this report delivered for this edition.
Thus, the festival will begin at 3:00 p.m. on the Parc del Fòrum beach, where it plans to host some 30,000 people and that features renowned ‘DJ’s of the stature of Armin Van Buuren or Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.Public order problem if not celebrated

And it is that according to these sources, sending the report request on time makes it difficultbut makes it impossible to carry out the comprehensive review of all documentation by the Fire Department technicians.
For this reason, and in order not to encounter situations like the current one, in 2010 Parliament approved Law 3/2010, on fire prevention and safety in establishments, activities, infrastructures and buildings, which established that the management competent general in matters of prevention and extinguishing of fires prevention report with a minimum of fifteen business days prior to the performance of the act. Then, the last day of presentation was June 10.
However, given the circumstances, and the many contacts in recent days with the City Council, today the DGPEIS Prevention Service has informed the City Council of Sant Adrià de Besós, and based on some of the arguments raised yesterday, that if the technical conditions provided for in the current edition of the festival are the same as those considered and implemented in previous editions of the same festival, the body can assume that safety conditions are guaranteed in case of fire, given that these conditions were already favorably reported for the last editions.

In this sense, it would correspond to the municipal Technical Services the documentary verification of the coincidence of all the security measures foreseen in the current edition with respect to those implemented in previous editions. Other City Councils that have recently been in similar circumstances, considering that the processing conditions were met, have chosen to continue the procedure and have granted the processing of the License.
In any case, the competence to grant the Activity License belongs to the City Council, and hence its decision is respected.
