The new engine arrives on the Citroen C4 SUV and the C4X coupé SUV Hybrid 136. The Citroën C4 Hybrid 136 can already be ordered with a price starting from 33,200 euros, while for the Citroen C4X Hybrid 136 33,900 euros are required. The first deliveries will begin during spring 2024.

The new engine therefore enriches the range which is already made up of electric variants with powers of 136 and 156 HP and batteries of 50 and 54 kWh (the C4X can boast of the largest battery and the best performing engine), and of the thermal powered with 100 and 130 HP petrol engines, in addition to the 130 HP diesel. The Hybrid 136 HP engine features the 1.2 PureTech turbo petrol engine with 136 HP and 230 Nm, Miller cycle equipped with a new variable geometry turbine, combined with a 28 HP permanent magnet electric unit located between the two gearbox clutches (the lithium ion battery is positioned under the driver’s seat and has a capacity of 432 Wh).

According to what was reported by the French company, compared to the thermal version, the mild hybrid consumes up to 20% less and can drive around the city half the time in electric mode, with fuel savings estimated at 30%.
