Cirque du Soleil returns

After five years, Cirque du Soleil will return to Argentina in June with “Bazzar”, one of its most successful shows. As part of his tour of Latin America and after performing with great success in Brazil and Chile, he will make his penultimate stop in the city of Bogotá before arriving in Buenos Aires.

Skating, cycling, fire, dance, pirouettes of the highest level and the inevitable clowns, make up this new show, number 43, of the iconic company founded in 1984 by Gilles Ste-Croix and Guy Laliberté, in Quebec, Canada. Inspired by the circus of yesteryear, it is a tribute to its origins, when a group of street artists began to amaze the world with their art, more than thirty years ago. It has the participation of thirty-five artists from twenty-three countries and is the first to be held in India, where it premiered in 2018. The stage is a meeting place for various characters that one would find in a bazaar and is dominated by the high energy excitement, added to the collision of sounds and colors.

Let’s remember that the successful international company completely reinvented the circus arts and went on to create a new form of entertainment focused only on human performance, without animals. His offerings took the traditional to a whole new level, blending state-of-the-art costumes, captivating music, and astonishing staging, resulting in a complete and powerful theatrical experience.

“Baazar” is presented as an eclectic laboratory of endless inventions in which a joyous troupe of acrobats, dancers and musicians work together to create an original, unique and impressive universe. The dynamic troupe reimagines, rebuilds and reinvents vibrant settings in a framework where the unpredictable is anticipated in an artistic and athletic game of superlative quality. Everything is directed by “El Maestro”, who, with his wand, like a conjurer, controls the artists at will and includes, among his ranks, some high-performance athletes specialized in different techniques.

The production will be carried out by Fenix Entertainment, the global entertainment company. The premiere is scheduled for June 23, at the Costanera Sur property in Buenos Aires. It will be on the bill for two weeks, with daily performances from Tuesday to Sunday. The approximate duration is one hour and forty minutes, with a twenty-five intermission.
