Cinemas and movie theaters have attracted a record number of visitors on Whit Sunday, since the start of the corona pandemic at the end of February 2020. A total of 189,263 people visited a cinema or movie theater.
“It is clear that large numbers of visitors have found their way back to the cinemas and movie theaters and postponed blockbusters such as Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion”reports the Dutch Association of Cinemas and Film Theaters (NVBF).
The top 5 films during the first day of Pentecost were according to the association Top Gun: Maverick† Jurassic World: Dominion† The Bad Guys† Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Moroccan wedding†
The cinemas were allowed to open their doors again last February. Since then, cinemas and movie theaters have been visited by 9.4 million people, the NVBF reports.
