The story of pop star George Michael comes to the cinema. The film, an autobiographical documentary titled George Michael Freedom Uncut, is slated to premiere on June 22nd. See the trailer for it here.

George Michael was a major contributor to the documentary before he died at Christmas 2016. He should therefore be heard in it and talk about his career and his private life. At one point in the trailer we hear him say, “I want to leave songs — I believe I can leave songs — that will mean something to other generations.”

Also part of the film are exclusive interviews with stars and companions such as Stevie Wonder, Sir Elton John, Ricky Gervais, Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Tracey Emin, Liam Gallagher, Mary J. Blige, Jean Paul Gaultier, James Corden, Tony Bennett , Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, most of whom also appear in the trailer.

It was recently announced that Michael’s solo album OLDER will be re-released as a limited box set.
