French top model Cindy Bruna is in great shape, but unlike many of her Victoria’s Secret model colleagues, Bruna says she’s anything but a lust trainer.

On the contrary: the model confesses not only to being lazy, but also to her French roots as a sweet tooth.

In her interviews, Bruna repeatedly emphasizes that her long, slender body is the result of genes. In fact, Bruna was so confident in his natural slimness that even in the early days of his career, he practically did not train at all and mostly nibbled on candy.

It was only after being a model for the underwear brand Victoria’s Secret that Bruna paid attention to increasing her muscle tone, and thus later also to her diet. Bruna says that she gains self-confidence from working out above all.

– I have never experienced any kind of pressure to change my appearance in any way, for example from my modeling agency or casting directors. I train for myself and only for myself, says Bruna in an interview with Elle Australia.

He also urges others to “work out for the right reasons” – not just for looks.

Bruna says that her slimness is natural, but training has brought shape to her body and, above all, a boost to her self-esteem.

Less is more

– When I started training, I could barely last 10 minutes – everything hurt. Aiming for an hour of training seemed impossible, so I set myself a daily goal of 20 minutes. Everyone can spare 20 minutes, Bruna encourages.

You can gradually increase the training times, and nowadays the model says that she trains for an hour approximately 3-4 times a week. Bruna reminds us that efficiency and regularity are key to getting results.

– Training smartly for only 20 minutes is better than training half-heartedly for an hour.

Bruna admits that sometimes life just makes working out impossible or it’s just not fun to sweat, so the breaks are completely understandable. In order to maintain regularity, he wants to make training as easy, fast and effortless as possible.

– The longer you take a break, the harder it is to start again. So try to force yourself to get back into your routine as soon as you can.

No equipment, no junk – just as much fun as possible

It’s easy to stick to a routine when exercising is as pleasant as possible. In Bruna’s case, it means, instead of heavy strength training, primarily bodyweight workouts that do not necessarily require any equipment.

– I don’t really like guided classes, so I focus on workouts that I can do alone and easily, with the equipment that can be found in even the most ordinary gym. I don’t want to look skinny, but solid, so I mainly do simple things, such as planks, push-ups, squats and crunches, Bruna describes.

– Some days I focus on a certain area, such as my legs. My favorite is training the rear, because I can see the difference right away.

Exercise should be fun! In recent pictures, Bruna enjoys running on the beach sand.

In addition to being interesting, Bruna emphasizes mindfulness thinking. Even in the gym, he thinks, the focus should also be on mental well-being and banishing stress through exercise, instead of training being one more source of stress.

In addition, she says that she strives to get about 10 hours of sleep every day, and therefore goes to bed on time – which, however, is not always possible in a young woman’s social life.

Mediterranean diet – only without sugar

Bruna says that she loves to eat, and that she can devour huge amounts of candy, hamburgers, and bread. The wine and cheeses are especially delicious.

– Since I’m naturally slim, I haven’t had to limit what I eat. However, as my fitness improved, I began to understand how food makes me feel and how eating affects my progress in the gym, Bruna says.

Regularity is also important to Bruna when it comes to meals. The model never skips meals and, for example, carries nuts with her on trips.

Now he says that he tries to eat as “cleanly” as possible. For breakfast, Bruna treats herself to, for example, oatmeal and almond milk or toast, eggs and marmalade. For lunch and dinner, he chooses plenty of vegetables, fish, olive oil and, for example, quinoa or dark rice.

Bruna also doesn’t skimp on a glass of wine every now and then, but makes sure to drink plenty of water at the same time. Actually, the model’s preferred diet sounds pretty much like a classic Mediterranean diet.

The only thing Bruna really avoids is sugar.

– I am a former sugar addict. I could eat candy all day, but after realizing what it was doing to my body, I had to stop. I went completely sugar free for a couple of months to kick the habit and it was horrible. Now I can eat a little candy now and then, but I still try to avoid it as much as I can.

The top model enjoys plenty of vegetables, fish and olive oil – but stays away from sugar.

Cheese, wine and pleasures – in a balanced way

Bruna still says that she allows herself days when she eats whatever she wants. – Too many people, especially women, suffer from guilt when it comes to eating. If I work out, I don’t feel guilty about overindulging. I also don’t reward myself with food. I pamper myself with, for example, a long shower or lying in bed all day. Being lazy is the best way to reward myself.

– My best advice is not to think too much about these things. Eat if you want to eat. Exercise, but in a way that is balanced. Don’t get a routine that’s hard to follow – but one that’s cool for you. And remember: water is good, but wine is better.
