Chuty returned to Red Bull in style and was crowned as the first three-time regional champion of the competition in the last of the qualifiers, held at the Agustín Rodríguez Sahagún Park in Madrid, before the National Final on July 28. Together with the Vallecano, Clímax, Babi and Peret Alek also sealed their pass to the great event in Valencia.
Chuty had not set foot on a Red Bull stage since his last appearance at the 2017 Mexico International Final. Then, the man from Madrid lost, just in the first round, in one of the most controversial and far-reaching decisions in the history of ‘freestyle’. Now, six years later, Chuty’s return to the mother of all battles is a reality.
The legendary competitor from Entrevías had to start his private journey towards his dream international belt in the Madrid Regional Final, the last of the regionals after Granada and Barcelona; and, without consideration, He killed everyone who got in his way.. Chuty, faithful to his character and to the values that have made him one of the most influential figures in the discipline, once again demonstrated a voracious hunger and relentless mentality that led him to lift his third regional champion title in the city of him; the first to do it.
Until he won the trophy, Chuty mercilessly swept before the 2,000 people who packed the mythical park from Madrid to Alanbur, in the round of 16; CMC, in the round of 16; to Ethico, in quarters; Peret, in the semifinals; and Climax, in the final. The next step in the Madrid roadmap will be to repeat his ‘modus operandi’ in the National Final in Valencia, on July 28, to thus revalidate his 2013 and 2017 titles; become the first three-time national champion in the history of Spain; and then set their sights on the International Final of Colombia.
Together with Chucky, Climax and Peret got their ticket for the Valencia event and will premiere in a National Final at the City of Arts and Sciences. With the celebration of the regional finals, the list of ‘freestylers’ who will choose to win the title of national champion is practically defined, since there is only one last place pending assignment. Thus, Tirpa, Jesús LC and Sweet Pain, classified from last year; Mnak, NQP, Elekipo and Errecé, from Granada; Alek, Zoyert, Titus and Ander 2K, who sealed their ticket in Barcelona; and Chuty, Clímax, Peret and Babi, who agreed in Madrid, are 15 of the 16 participants who aspire to succeed Blon on the throne.
