Hannover (AP) – Hannover 96 has promoted former Bundesliga professional Christoph Dabrowski from interim to head coach. The second division football team announced that despite the recent 4-1 defeat against Werder Bremen in the last game of the year.
After Mirko Slomka, Kenan Kocak and Jan Zimmermann, the ex-professional is already the fourth 96 head coach since relegating the Bundesliga in 2019.
The 43-year-old Dabrowski has been working as a youth, U23 and now also assistant coach for the 96s since 2013. After separating from Jan Zimmermann, he should initially only look after the professionals in the home game against Hamburger SV (1-0). The success in this game and, above all, the way in which the former Bundesliga player from Werder Bremen, Hannover 96 and VfL Bochum arrived at the team, prompted those responsible to extend this period to Christmas first and Dabrowski now finally to be promoted.
