Patrick Schmidt is stepping down as Co-CEO of Global Fashion Group (GFG). This means that Christoph Barchewitz will be the sole Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Barchewitz will be the sole manager of the online fashion retailer from March 1st, the Global Fashion Group announced on Thursday. Gunjan Soni will also assume the role of Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). She is also CEO of the Asian online retailer Zalora, which belongs to GFG alongside Dafiti and The Iconic, and is responsible for the group’s search engine marketing.
Schmidt was active with the group for ten years. He and Barchewitz managed the e-commerce specialist for five years as co-CEOs. Now Schmidt wants to “spend more time with his young family” and devote himself to his “investments in renewable energies”, according to the announcement.
“We are pleased to appoint Christoph as CEO after five years of exemplary leadership in building GFG into the company it is today,” said Cynthia Gordon, Chairman of the GFG Supervisory Board. “We would also like to congratulate and welcome Gunjan Soni as COO. The joint experience of the two on the board will further strengthen and expand the success of GFG.”
