The recently assumed head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, welcomed Christmas this Friday with the traditional lighting of Christmas lights at the Obelisk. He was accompanied by the vice chief, Clara Muzzio.

“I hope we can keep the christmas values and highlight them more than ever. My greatest wish is that these days bring peace, health and harmony to all Argentine homes, strengthening the ties that unite us. I am convinced that extending a hand and shortening distances with those at our side is the best way to face the difficult moment we are experiencing,” said Jorge Macri.

The event, which was transmitted by satellite signal throughout the country, began with a set of LED lights from around the emblematic monument. Then A mapping with Christmas images was projected which culminated with a countdown.

For this occasion, the “Green BA” in the Plaza de la República was retouched and in addition, the Gospel Singers Argentina Choir He sang his typical Christmas carols.
