It is considered one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the capital. The Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace has been taking place since 2007. The end was announced last winter. Now it is known that there will be a sequel – but with a new organizer.
The Christmas market at Berlin’s Charlottenburg Palace can take place in 2023 and also in 2024. This is announced by the press office of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg (SPSG). But not Tommy Erbe, who has organized the Christmas market since 2007, will organize it, but a new organizer: Jens Schmidt GmbH from Velten. The contract was signed in Potsdam on Thursday.
Jens Schmidt GmbH builds and markets wooden booths. “She has decades of experience in the entertainment industry with major events, theme worlds and amusement parks. In Berlin, the company organized, among other things, the Christmas market at the Opernpalais,” said SPSG spokesman Frank Kallensee.
The new organizer Jens Schmidt adds: “In the usual way, we will ensure Christmas flair at this traditional location in Charlottenburg and get all visitors in the mood for the Christmas season.”
“We are aware of the responsibility, which expectations are linked to the sequel. For many it is the most beautiful and romantic Christmas market in Berlin.”
In 2023, the Christmas market will be open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from November 27th to December 31st, only closed on December 24th.
Next year it will be held in a smaller area, because then the preparation phase for the construction of the new visitor center at the castle will start. There will be no Christmas market during the construction period from 2025 to 2028.
