The Christmas market at De Balloohoeve is canceled today. The rain and wind yesterday and last night have ensured that no market is possible.
“The meadow where parking has to be done has been turned into a kind of swimming pool,” the organization says. “Yesterday we had to help push cars out.” Tents of exhibitors were also blown to pieces.
The market in Balloo would actually be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. “It’s really a shame,” sighs a spokesperson. The Christmas market continued on Friday evening and yesterday. “There were about seventy exhibitors. Yesterday we were really busy, I think there were nine hundred people. Some exhibitors were even sold out.”
