Un Christmas market special, born from the desire to concretely address the theme of prevention and treatment of female cancers. Is called “Shop For Good” and is organized like every year by Dragonfly Together Foundation, born in 2015 from a suggestion from Professor Umberto Veronesi to Doctor Paola Martinoni, breast surgeon, oncologist, who is its founder.

From the solidarity markets organized by the volunteers of Libellule Foundation together good things always come out for everyone, for those who buy and for those who use the Foundation’s services. But especially for women who are also oncology patients. And who are facing a period of their lives made up of fear, pain, difficulty in having hope for the future.
“We deal with prevention of female cancers but also of the entire process that follows the operation”, explains the Doctor Paola Martinoni, breast surgeon, expert in first and second level diagnostics for the prevention of breast cancer, for years dedicated to the follow-up of cancer patients and their physical and psychological support. «We are dedicated to 360° rebirth of cancer patients offering them a individual guided tour. Every cent of the proceeds obtained from the Libellule Insieme Foundation Christmas Market will help towards the purchase of one “Mammotome”. What is that? The founder Paola Martinoni, breast specialist and oncologist, explains it to us. «It’s a system for VABB biopsy which uses a computer-assisted probe for biopsies of non-palpable breast lesions previously found through radiological or ultrasound examinations. It allows you to take fragments of tissue to analyze histologically. It’s a cutting-edge equipment to carry out multiple samples of breast tissue in case of suspected tumor lesions for micro-calcifications or areas of parenchymal distortion and suspicious areas”, explains Doctor Martinoni. An extraordinary innovation, which can improve and speed up cancer diagnosishelping doctors to develop the possible treatment path for patients with breast cancer.
