Ton Maat (75) has been decorating his front garden in Heemskerkse Scheldestraat for about 10 years now. He says that the preparations take a lot of time. “I’m working on it for one and a half to two months. Not all day, of course, but sometimes also with repairs.”

Mr. Size will have a merry Christmas with not too much fuss. “Christmas is the nicest period for me. I hope to have beautiful days. We don’t celebrate it excessively with large meals and things like that, but simply and cozy, that’s the most important thing.”
