Actress Christina Applegate received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.
Applegate made her first public appearance after being diagnosed with MS.
In his touching speech, Applegate recalled his career with warmth and humor.
– My life has been very interesting, Applegate said.
– It started as a little girl when I was waiting in line to watch the first one Star Wars on this same street, to the same theater. I looked at the stars on this street and wondered who these people are. What they did? Did they do something right? Or wrong? Whatever it is, I want the same, he continued.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Applegate talked about her life with MS.
After receiving the diagnosis, Applegate was filming the final season of the Netflix series Dead to Me, which caused special arrangements for filming.
Applegate broke down in tears as she directed her words to her daughter in the audience.
– Thank you for standing by my side in all this, he said.
Finally, Applegate addressed the audience.
– By the way, I’m sick. Didn’t you notice? I don’t even have shoes. You should laugh at that!
