Was also a coach until the end of June
Former professional Christian Ziege has resigned from his position as sports director at the Austrian regional league (3rd division) FC Pinzgau Saalfelden after a little over two years. The 50-year-old said he made the decision “for private reasons”.
Ziege said, “I cannot devote the time that would be required in this capacity. It has been a great honor for me to have been an important part of the FCPS family over the past few years. We have experienced a lot together, initiated many positive things together and taken important steps. I would like to sincerely thank you for the trust you have placed in me and wish the club a successful future. A big thank you also goes to my companions who, with their dedication and commitment, form the valuable foundation of our day-to-day work.”
The former German national player initially helped out as a coach in April 2019 in the team where his son Alessandro has been active since 2018, but then held this position until the end of last season, which ended in third place in the Salzburg Regionalliga. In the summer of 2020, he also took over the post of sporting director. As a coach, Ziege scored an average of 1.66 points in 41 competitive games
