In addition to Koché and Lemaire, the designer Christelle Kocher is now also taking over the creative direction of Charles Jourdan. French footwear brand Charles Jourdan plans to make a comeback with Kocher, targeting millennials and Gen Z, reports WWD.
As Kocher explains to WWD, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to revitalize the French brand. “It’s great to awaken a sleeping beauty with amazing history, heritage and legitimacy,” Kocher told the magazine.
A preview of Kocher’s work for the brand will already be available at her own brand’s runway show on March 1 during Paris Fashion Week. The designer has designed a capsule. “It was a technical challenge to make these shoes,” she told WWD. “They’re little sculptures. I want them to look good on a foot but also be beautiful as an object.”
A new Charles Jourdan store is set to open in Paris in the coming months. Kocher’s first collection for the brand is set to hit stores in June. According to WWD, the sales prices will be between 470 euros and 750 euros.
